Our Hot Air Balloon Ride

Today we woke at 4 am (me), Jim got up at 4:30.  Off we were to go on our very first hot air balloon ride.
We were driven from the Company to the area where we would launch
The bucket weights 850 lbs.  The balloon is in that red bag
They lay down large sheets first, and lay the balloons on top of them

We had 4 balloons going off today.  The balloon itself weights 800 lbs. It came out of the red vinyle bag you see in front of the baloow below.
They roll in the industrial size fans in and start inflating the balloons
Looking in on the inside of the balloon as it inflates
3 balloons getting inflated at once
Here you can see the fan, the bucket, and the guy turning on the propane
Flames blowing into the balloon.  The guy on the left is holding the balloon down...
Now they are hooking up the bucket
More flames (great picture Jim!!)
And we are ready for lift off!  12 people were in our bucket

We "kissed" our other balloon in the air.  Guess that's ok.  Word is that's how they get baby balloons.

Do you see the balloon in the picture below?

Time to come in for a landing.  Deflating the balloon after we land.

Packing it up for another day
What an exciting day!!!  Loved it.
Jim's camera was dated the 12th.  Should be dated the 13th.
