Tonight's Camera Shots

Paul Kroegel was hired as the first national wildlife refuge manager. He was paid $1 a month by the Florida Audubon Society, as Congress had not set aside funds for this executively created refuge.

A more detailed biography of Paul Kroegel, was previously posted here. This is his status in Riverview Park.

And these are Phlox. Huge bushes. just coming into bloom now. Back home, I'm lucky if I can get half a dozen stalks, 8 inches high, in a clump, before the mold comes and takes them out!

Does anybody really know what time it is?

Navigating The Unknown

I want to take a moment to share with you, the lovely photos that our new found friends Tom and Lorraine have. We met them earlier this year, in Carrabelle Beach, at the very first campground in our RV adventuring. Tom and his wife Lorraine, are very talented photographers. Below is just one sample. You must check out their website. It is full of breathtaking treasures. They are full time RVers. Thanks Tom & Lorraine for allowing me to share.

Sebastian Aerial View

This picture really gives you a good idea of the area. Sebastian and surrounding towns are on the mainland, with the river and outlying Islands (Pelican Island, the Wildlife Preservation we posted pictures from), and then, of course, the Atlantic. Riding on that highway on the scooters, on the Ocean is just awesome.

Wildlife Festival at Sebastian's Riverview Park

Every March the Pelican Island Preservation Society hosts a wildlife festival at Sebastian's Riverview Park, in honor of the first America's First National Wildlife Refuge, Pelican Island. This event features displays of wildlife in Florida and is held in conjunction with the City of Sebastian and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Look at how they made this train.

We listened to a band play "To Love Somebody" Bee Gees; and "Wooden Ship" Jefferson Airplane, among other songs.

We enjoyed this exhibit of an Eagle, hawks, and Owls. The pictures didn't come out as well as I had hoped.

Summer 2012

This summer, we are planning a trip to the mid-west. This map is postmarks of each RV Campground that we will stay at on our way. The trip going out is 9 days. We're staying at a few places 2 days.

Ending up here. The Winnebago Itasca Grand National Rally, in Forest City, Iowa.

The Grand National Rally is an annual gathering of Winnebago Industries produced products, that draws approximately 1,600 units. This rally is sponsored by the WIT Club for members only. The rally runs for 6 days, with prerally activities and prerally parking available. The week is full of planned activities for the youth.

The rally consists of some seventy-five seminars ranging from product information on our products, vendor products, to craft classes. Vendors are located in a large air-conditioned facility. There are Merchant and Craft rows available, and entertainment throughout the week during the day, with top professional acts at a 3,000-seat amphitheater in the evenings. Fourteen hundred 30-amp plus 144 50-amp electrical hook-ups are available with water and dump stations on the grounds.
