So Long Iowa

Today, we were busy. I made a fruit salad, egg salad, tossed salad. It makes it easier for the next few days. I went into downtown Forest City (population 4,500), which is about 2 miles down the road, and did some laundry, with a new found friend. None of us at the rally had water. We would hook up our hoses to the well water every so many rows. Fill up our tanks. Walk over and fill gallon water bottles.

The "honey pot" would come to clean out our Grey and Black water tanks.

We showered in one of two buildings, that were available. Also labeled "Storm Shelter". Each housed about 4-5 showers. Some of my happiest moments were standing under that cool water. It sure does get hot here.

We ended up having 900 coaches at the rally this year. That's not too bad considering the economic times we are in.

Tomorrow we leave for Mitchel, South Dakota. As I recall, Jim and I looked at the Verizon coverage map and discussed the large pockets of unavailability out West, exactly where we are heading. I will take pictures and post them as I go along, with what I have for Service.

These are a few set ups that I shot pictures of.

  1. You are headed to barren land where there are no people for miles and miles. Unlike the East Coast !!! It's still the great frontier !!! LOL
