Heading To North Carolina

We shall see what the day brings. We are on our way to NC, and hopefully the "Check Engine" light stays off. We will be driving even though it comes on. The only way we will be stopping is if the Coach stops running. Then, we get roadside assistance and a hotel that accommodates my dog... I wonder what's around the corner?

Regarding the title of this post:  this is a G-Rated blog, and there will be no profanity....but the day is young...we just got into a fender bender 3 miles back...18 yo pulled into the center lane from the right as he entered via a ramp, Jim was losing his lane on the left...so he was moving over.  The kid nicked the right corner of the rig.  He had a small car.  Little ding on his car, right front reflector broke off on the rig.  Jim didn't realize he had hit him until he heard the crunch.  He didn't see him.  He came in under the mirror in the right front, cutting Jim off, but he didn't realize Jim was also moving into the same lane.

Daisy (the Coach) started to buck and we are now currently pulled over just off Rt. 81 at exit 28, and we are on Rt. 17S.  About a mile down the road.
Jim is on the phone with the Freightliner Chassis Help line and the guy is kind enough to walk him thru it.
He was asked to drained 3 oz's of the fuel filter.  The guy believes there is water in the fuel.  Now after he has drained about 3 oz's of the fuel, he was asked to  rev up the RPM's to 1000.  He's to hold it there for a minute or two.  Now he's gone back to drain more of the the water separator part of the fuel filter.  Jim said it makes sense, because he topped off his fuel at Fred Fuller's Place up on Rt. 25 (where the Heating Oil company is, near Moultonboro).   He thinks there was either some water or some crud in it.  The guy said if the fuel has been in the ground over 30 days, then there is water in it.   Now he's pulling out.  The service man is still on the phone with him.  Coach is running fine now.  Jim will change the whole filter when we get to the Campground.  He is now just gabbing with the guy...all is well...for now.

Onward to PA

It was a fuel pressure sensor. They did not have the part in stock. They feel it may never happen again. Said with everything in these Motorhomes all computerized they are very sensitive.  They don't know why it went off to begin with.  It could have been something, it could have been nothing.  They tried to get it to do it again and they couldn't.  So they reset the system.   So we are heading to J Pilot, filling up the propane tank and on to our campground in PA.

We just entered PA!  I'll have some pictures of the Campground later on today.

Destination: Warm

We headed out yesterday morning to our reserved campground.  Our plan was to spend the first night at a rest area in New York, thereby shortening the 9 hour drive to our first Campground in PA.

Unfortunately, Wednesday, we noticed one of the levelers was not descending.  Jim called the garage and inquired.  We needed to get that fixed, and it was most likely a hydrolic selnoid.  The garage we go to is an hour North from our home.  By the time all was said and done, we were driving by our home 3 hours later into our day on Thursday.  Now we still had another 5 hours of driving to get to that rest area in New York.

About 5 miles out from our Rest Area, the "Check Engine !" light came on.  Then, it went off.  It did this 3 times.  Ending with it on as we pulled into the Rest Area.  The sun was setting.  We had another 1 1/2 hours South to get to our Pilot J Travel Center, where we were going to fill up with Propane.

Phone calls were made, and it was our luck that a Freightliner service area was on our way to the Pilot J we intended to hit this morning anyway.  So, we arrived here at 7:30 a.m.  and they said they would take us in at 9:00.  They will hook up a gizmo wire under the dashboard and it will shoot out the code of the "Engine Warning" that we received yesterday, and they will take it from there.

We had the Coach in at the Freightliner this past Summer for a full maintenance check.  I guess the levelers aren't included in that....who knows?  Maybe the engine isn't included either (sarcasm here)...Jim tells me that the levelers are Winnebago's.  Not Freightliners.

I made a delightful breakfast:  Egg McMuffin.  I got to use this gadget I bought at last summers WIT Grand National Rally in Iowa.  Crack an egg in it, stir, add bacon or sausage (I added bacon bits).  Put lid down, throw in microwave for 1 minute.  I pull out our brand new combination toaster/toaster oven, and put in some Onion Bagels.  Placed the egg on the toasted bagels that had a slice of American Cheese and there ya go!  A V-8 for Jim and Cranberry Juice for me.

Now, we are off to walk Tucker for a good half hour or more while they check the Coach.  Hopefully, it will not be anything important and we will carry on to the Flying J, fill up with Propane, and our destination in PA is only another 2 hours down the road.
