South Padre Island, Texas

Today, we drove to South Padre Island.  Thank you Cousin Janice, for all the tips on where to go, and what to see.  We had a heck of a good time!!  What an adventure.  As an aside, we do have a scratch on our Cannon pocket camera lens, and it's time to replace it.  Before we headed over to the Island, we were in Port Isabel.

Wikipedia:  According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.9 square miles (7.5 km2), of which, 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2) of it is land and 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2) of it is water.
This a drawbridge, the whole section goes up on the 4 posts you see
Established as a town after the Mexican revolution, Port Isabel became an important cotton export port before the Civil War. The harbor, town and lighthouse all were fought over and exchanged hands during the Civil War.[5][6
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km2), of which 1.8 square miles (4.7 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) (4.23%) is water.
From wikipedia:
The population was 2,816 at the 2010 census. The town is located on South Padre Island, a barrier island along the Texas Gulf Coast accessible via a causeway from the town of Port Isabel. South Padre Island is named after José Nicolás Ballí (Padre Ballí), a Catholic priest and settler.[4]

We left the beach, and got back into our car.
Our Garmin told us to continue on...so we did

We left the beach, I looked at our Garmin, and said to continue on so we did!  And this song played on the radio, on Tom Petty's Station (Sirius) while we drove....it could not have been more fitting.

We don't know how this RV made it onto the Beach
We got off the beach and continued driving down Ocean Blvd..a sign warned of drifting sand onto the road...
We turned around, and landed at a place called Clayton's. They allow Dogs. So, it was perfect.
