Judy Collins: "Someday Soon" http://youtu.be/ZIgnHPqp0Dk
We went to the Cinch Shootout Rodeo today, at the Cheyenne Frontier Days.
We started out the Rodeo with the Leap Frogs.
From their website:
The United States Navy Parachute Team “The Leap Frogs” is the official parachute demonstration team of the United States Navy. Part of the United States Naval Special Warfare Command. The team is made up of active-duty Navy SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen (SWCC) and support personnel. The team is sanctioned by the Department of Defense and recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Here are the pictures I was able to get:
We entered the areana area. Some penned horses. I bonded with this guy:
These are a few of them:
I liked him:
I took a picture of the campaign. Feel free to throw a name out their for the Burro (below):
Here are the Burro's:
This is the Steer Wrestling (below). You can see the cowboy in the turquoise shirt, abandoning his horse to wrestle the steer.
(Below) The Cowboy is almost on the ground in this picture. See his horizontal legs?
(Below) There he is. On the ground. Wrestling the steer to the ground...all timed, of course.
And he's down.
(Below): Here is the "Saddle Bronc" One of my favorites.
(Below): Fresh out of the shoot. He's bucking like crazy!!
(Below) Right before a "buck". Look at that tail!
(Below) Lots of action!!! They will eventually get that cowbow off that horse, lassu the horse, and bring him in.
(Below) A differnt competitor, in the Saddle Bronc competition
(Below): Now this is the Bareback. That was just awesome. Do you see how high his hind legs are?
(Below) same competitor
(Below) Same competitor. Lots of action going on.
(Below): This is the Barrel Racing. Jim and I were busy cheering them on. What fun!!
(Below) Barrel Racing Competition
(Below) How low can you go? Awesome picture I captured here!!
(Below): And of course, "Elvis" has to make a showing....
After the rodeo, we walked the main street. Here are some shops:
(Below) The sign above these says:
(Below): Some Metal Art
Wow! Looks like quite a show. My back hurts just looking at the photos of that guy getting tossed around. That takes some skill to not be seriously hurt. Looks like you had a great day!
ReplyDeleteMeemur, I'm with you. They were thrashing about and it's a blessing they don't have bad backs. And that picture of the horse going around the barrel....I do not know how he didn't land on his side. Lots of action at that Rodeo. It was a real good time, and we're still talking about it!
