Things To Do In Missoula

Jim and I started our day by having some Breakfast at Hob Nob On Higgins
531 S. Higgins Ave
Missoula, MT
(406) 541-4622

They are famous for their Corned Beef which they "cook slow cook all night long and then it's cast iron cooked with onions and potatoes".   Usually the potatoes are incorporated into the hash, but here it is served separately, which was a nice change.   Their website tells us that they have been voted Best Power Lunch for 5 years running!  "You can expect organic choices, homemade bread, desserts and exciting specials."

Corned Beef Hash:  We slow cook our corned beef overnight, then it's cast iron cooked with onions & potatoes.  Topped with eggs & choice of toast.  ($7.75).  We had the Sourdough bread toast.  Yum!

From there, we ventured down Higgins Avenue, and went into 4 Ravens Gallery, fine contemporary crafts.

I took some pictures inside, along with taking the card, so you will be able to go to their site, or contact them, if you like their work.

This mixer was in their front window.  Here's the story (Jim told me)..."Ray Kroc was an American entrepreneur best known for expanding McDonald’s from a local chain to the world’s most profitable restaurant franchise operation....He first put his restaurant knowledge to use as a traveling milkshake machine salesman. The machines that Kroc sold made five shakes at a time, increasing restaurant efficiency. He remained in sales for 17 years.  It was in his role as a milkshake machine salesman that Kroc first became involved with McDonald’s, a restaurant chain based in San Bernardino, California. The McDonald brothers were clients who had purchased multiple mixers. Grasping the franchising potential of McDonald’s, Kroc offered to work as a franchising agent for a cut of the profits. Ultimately, Kroc’s ambitions for the restaurants eclipsed those of the McDonald brothers.  In 1955, Kroc became president of the McDonald’s Corporation. He bought out the owners entirely six years later.
Notice the tin ceiling.  We're in what we believe was a Apothecary (an archaic word for pharmacist)

Note the B.T.U's!  Cayenne, 40,000, 90,000, 100,000, 160,000!!!  We bought the 90,000.

Coffee Beans in the bins under the checkout counter.

Look at the cabinet.  A beauty!  Naked guy?  What naked guy?

I was very very happy, because I was able to get all the spices that I need to make my Egg Bhurji for a grand total of $2.50, because I could purchase such small amounts.  I've posted the recipe here on my blog.  Jim and I enjoy the dish for Breakfast quite often.

Eventually, it was time to head back home (home is where the RV is parked...) and I took a few more shots...

They have it all!

Who says you need a 40 ft motorhome anyway

The local Walmart had lots of RV's camping out
